A: Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM. When you arrive, our innkeeper will greet you at the A-Frame building next to the blue main building to get you checked in. If you’re arriving late, just give us a call and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.

Q: Is there a front desk on-site?

A: Yes! We have an innkeeper on-site to welcome you. When you arrive, head to the A-Frame building next to the blue main building for check-in. You can also reach us by phone at (801) 823-9314 or email at sales@pinnacleflaminggorge.com if you have any questions before your stay.

Q: Do the rooms have kitchens?

A: Yes! Every room comes equipped with a kitchenette, which is perfect for preparing meals, processing your catch after a day of fishing, or just making your morning coffee. It’s one of the features our guests love most.

Q: What room types are available?

A: We offer queen bed suites and double twin bed layouts. Every room is clean, comfortable, and comes with a kitchenette and television. Our retro 1970s-style decor gives The Pinnacle a charming, nostalgic feel that sets us apart.

Q: Is there Wi-Fi available?

A: Yes! Wi-Fi is free and simple — no password needed, just connect and go. Keep in mind that Manila is a small, rural town, so internet speeds may be slower than what you’re used to in the city, but it’s great for checking emails and planning your next day’s adventure.

Q: Is The Pinnacle pet-friendly?

A: Yes, we welcome pets! We know your furry companions are part of the family, especially on outdoor adventure trips. Please note that there is a daily pet fee. Let us know when booking so we can prepare accordingly.

Parking & Boats

Q: Is there parking available?

A: Yes, we offer free parking on-site, including space for trucks and trailers.

Q: Can I park my boat at the property?

A: Yes, boat and trailer parking is available on the property. However, boats must be parked in the designated parking area away from the guest units — you cannot park a boat or trailer directly next to your room.

Q: Are there power outlets available for boats or trailers?

A: No, there is no power available for boats or trailers at the property. If you need to charge batteries or run any equipment, we recommend making those arrangements before arriving.

Q: Do you rent boats?

A: Yes! We offer a premium fishing boat available for daily rental right here at The Pinnacle. For full details on the boat, specifications, pricing, and add-ons, visit our Boat Rental page.

Q: What is the Utah “STD of the Sea” requirement for boaters?

A: If you’re bringing a boat to Flaming Gorge, Utah requires all boaters to complete the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) program before launching. This helps prevent the spread of quagga mussels and other invasive species in Utah’s waters. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Take the free Mussel-Aware Boater Course — This is an annual online course required for every person operating a boat. Complete it at wildlife.utah.gov/quaggacourse.
  2. Pay the AIS Vessel Enrollment Fee — Your boat needs a current-year AIS decal sticker affixed to the bow. The fee is $20 for Utah residents and $25 for non-residents (per watercraft, per year).
  3. Clean, Drain, Dry — After every outing, you’re required to clean, drain, and dry your watercraft. You must also stop at all open AIS check stations.

These steps must be completed before you launch your vessel. Make sure to have your printed AIS enrollment certification displayed on the dash of your towing vehicle and the current-year decal on your boat. For full details, fees, and to get started, visit stdofthesea.utah.gov.

Things to Do

Q: How far is The Pinnacle from Flaming Gorge Reservoir?

A: We’re located just 5 miles from the Lucerne Valley Marina, making us one of the closest lodging options to the water. It’s a quick drive to the boat launch.

Q: What is there to do near The Pinnacle?

A: Flaming Gorge is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Popular activities include fishing for trophy lake trout, kokanee salmon, and smallmouth bass; hiking the Canyon Rim Trail or Hideout Canyon Trail; visiting the Red Canyon Overlook for panoramic views; wildlife viewing at Sheep Creek Geological Loop (watch for mule deer, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, and moose); camping; and stargazing under some of the darkest skies in Utah.

Q: Do I need a fishing license?

A: Yes, a valid Utah fishing license is required to fish at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. You can purchase one online through the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources website. If you’re fishing on the Wyoming side, a Wyoming license may be required depending on your location.

General Information

Q: What is the history of The Pinnacle?

A: The Pinnacle at Flaming Gorge was originally known as “The Vacation Inn,” founded by Warren and Bonnie Lyngle in the late 1960s. It was envisioned as part of a 160-room motel and condo complex approved by the Town of Manila and Daggett County in 1968. Now under new management as Pinnacle FG LLC, we’re honoring that pioneering vision while making updates to create the next generation of vacation memories.

Q: Are there restaurants or grocery stores nearby?

A: Manila is a small town, so dining and grocery options are limited. That’s one reason our in-room kitchenettes are so handy — many guests bring groceries or stock up in Vernal (about 45 minutes south) before arriving. There are a few local dining spots in the area, and the Flaming Gorge area has some seasonal options as well.

Q: What’s the best time of year to visit?

A: The Flaming Gorge area is beautiful year-round, but the most popular season is late spring through early fall (May-October) when the reservoir is ideal for boating, fishing, and hiking. Fall brings stunning foliage, and winter offers a quieter, more secluded experience with opportunities for ice fishing and snowshoeing.

Q: How do I book a room?

A: You can book directly on our website at pinnacleflaminggorge.com for the best rates, starting at $89/night. Booking direct means no third-party fees and exclusive offers. You can also call us at (801) 823-9314.
